Conan 2026 Movie Highway no Datenshi Impressions (Sample)

Asalam aleikoum how's it going. I watched this year's Meitantei Conan movie, Highway no Datenshi. Crunchyroll released it on some cinemas in France this September.
These past years it was another distributor (iirc Eurozoom) handling the movies' release, but since the series isn't popular here and only anime boomers know it - kids nowadays would rather watch jujutsu kimetsu blue lock etc - it was doing very few entries each time and was only shown for a few days. I've seen every Conan movie since 2022 in theaters and each time there were like 10 people at most at the showing I was at, mostly adults.
Every year the movie took longer and longer for the movies to release. Last year, Eurozoom almost didn't release the 2025 movie, and it took quite a while to come out.
I think they finally stopped this year. But yeah crunchyroll took over and released it now. It's worrying Sony/Crunchyroll is owning nearly all of anime distribution worldwide.
Anyway, movie was pretty good, expect for its lackluster writing, with a lot of weird moments in the last parts. It was also really obvious who the mastermind was.
Besides that there were a few pretty cool moments, though some felt a bit forced/Needless. Like I really think they should have found another way to slot in the traditional soccer shot than that scene at the end. Should have just made it so that the cockpit's door was unlocked. They could have all died three times lol.
Anyway, I thought this was a pretty balanced movie, with a bit of everything (except for FBI characters and The Organization). Was especially happy Sonoko was in the movie and helped with a few things. She's my favorite character, but sometimes she doesn't show up at all.
