When I recorded the episode, I searched for gameplay from the TGS 2026 demo on Twitter but couldn't find any. After I recorded though, I figured I should search on bilibili and youtube, and ended up finding this video from a Japanese afficionados of the game.

Seems no one else recorded anything, be it Japanese or non-Japanese media. In the first place I never saw any English gaming site talk about Dolls Nest, besides the major press releases like the game's release date, and the interview Automaton did. No one cares about the game lol. Wish I could get hired somewhere to write a review. Need to write a longer post and make other vids about the game one day.

Anyway, hopefully Nitroplus will do a bigger trailer for the release date of the DLC. And actually put it on YouTube. I assume it's probably a single person taking care of PR stuff. So they didn't have the time to upload a high-quality version of the first trailer on YouTube yet.

Sometimes even in a big company I guess it could be just a single person taking care of socials. Like, I think it's probably a single person at Sega currently in charge of renewing the Sakura Taisen website. They have to include character pages for every single character but probably don't have access to all the artwork&resources/don't have anyone to ask. I'm guessing that's why for certain things, most notably Sakura Kakumei, they only included the main main characters and not the fifty plus other characters. It sucks.

The outfits look cute but I don't particularly care about what my character wears in Dolls Nest. You don't see your character's clothes much when fighting anyway. I haven't bought DLC pack 1 but maybe I'll buy both 1&2 at some point just to give NItroplus more money so they make Dolls Nest 2.

Like I said in the video, it's kinda funny/sad Urobuchi is saying this because I think there are WAY WORSE, way more out of touch Japanese writers than him. Lotof original anime series end up being really disappointing, and I tried explaining some of the reasons why in the video.

There are other issues I didn't have in mind while recording. Didn't bring up higher-ups forcing writers to do certain stuff, forcing them to promote merch in a certain way, etc etc. And also the issues with split cour series changing directions midway because higher ups aren't satisfied, etc.

And then yeah I started talking about how people are only receptive about something if they actually wanna care. No matter how clear your message is, if they don't wanna see it they won't. Obviously it'd be a very good thing if one day Bobby McCloud, Yamada Juliet, Starrysky Seiya etc famous otaku authors made something talking directly talking about IRL racism , Palestine etc, but people who don't want to care will still not care even among their die-hard fans.
