Got Filtered On My First Ever Misuzu Veil Run in Gakumas
Sister we did NOT take over the world, we dropped the ball harder than the USA in its current Century Color Million Color of Humiliation. Pinky and The Brain were devastated watching us. Kept running out of Stamina, missed two Perfects on Lessons and even fully failed one. Was a disaster but twas fun to find a new challenge. Didn't reach the podium in all four retries during the final audition.

Result of the run in detail
Needless to say I could easily get 1st place if I just didn't play on Legend difficulty or didn't pick the highest difficulty P Challenge Items. But then that'd be way too easy. Speaking of which I can't wait to see how hype N.I.A Mode will be when it gets Legend difficulty. I hope the new H.I.F Mode coming with the 2nd anniversary will be interesting as well.
I'm also looking forward to what kind of new Stance or Buff will possibly be introduced with Rinha when she becomes playable. Similarly with Misuzu introducing Nonbiri Stance (which is Onzon Level 3 Stance) or Tsubame having the Pride buff. Maybe Rinha will have a Tsuyoki Level 3 Stance.
Kaya Rinha was technically not announced as a playable character but I explained why she'll definitely be playable in this video starting 23:29. TLDR you need to look at the characters' seiyuu and how the idol seiyuu industry and sociage industry works.
That video was in November 2025. Since then, it became even more likely Rinha will become playable as the Temari Step 3 storyline released on Jan 16 2026 added a Rinha 3D model.

Veil Misuzu 's card and P item details
Anyway, back to Veil Misuzu, I played her like other Tsuyoki-themed Anomaly characters, and the run went horribly. You really need to build your whole deck around the fact that the Veil P Item, Yozora wo Shitagaeru Hana, makes you go into Nonbiri Stance every 3 times you use a Tsuyoki Stance card. And then you gotta use Veil's card, Oshieteageru, as much as possible since it costs zero Stamina.
Also, Supernova is an useless Legend card for Veil Misuzu because there's no way to time it right. As when you use Tsuyoki Stance cards to reach Tsuyoki Stance Level 2 to be able to use Supernova, you'll end up using 3 Tsuyoki Stance cards and go back to Nonbiri Stance. Unless you get a card that puts you in Tsuyoki Level 2 right away, and are lucky enough to pull that + Supernova on your last turn.

The five Legend cards obtainable when playing an Anomaly idol like Veil Misuzu.
As for the other Legend cards, Grand Finale and Expert are out of the question because they're Zenryoku Stance based. I don't see how putting cards in Reserve or going into Zenryoku would be a good thing with Veil Misuzu.
Maybe Legend Star is not too terrible as you'll get two bonus turns (too difficult to go in Zenryoku twice to get the third bonus turn) But you need to go in zenryoku to get the +150% Parameter bonus so probably not a good idea .
This leaves us with Top Quality as the sole seemingly viable Legend card. I need to try using it next time I attempt a run.
(Edit from the future: I didn't reread Expert's description properly and assumed you need to go in Zenryoku. You don't, I remembered the card's effect completely wrong lol. It makes you put a card in Reserve and then use the cards in Reserve for free wit ha +5Score bonus. I ended up getting Expert in my second Veil Misuzu run as I didn't manage to get Top Quality. It worked out okay, Top Quality is probably better after all. I As a sidenote, I also did an experiment in that run: Turns out when you forcibly use a card with Expert, if you don't fulfill the conditions to use the card, you'll use the card, but it won't activate. See what happens at 43:20 when I try using Isshinfuran without being in Tsuyoki stance, the card goes to my dump without activating.)
Needless to say I could just read tips on Game8 or something but that'd be uninteresting. I wanna use my brain and think up a strategy to win by myself.
Misuzu is my favorite Gakumas character with Mao, Sena, Tsubame (and maybe Sumika and CHINA NUMBER ONE). But this is mainly based on chara design, overall personality, and the few things I learned from the few storylines I played.
The game is reaching its second anniversary and I still haven't read anything beyond Step 1 Temari/Kotone/Sumika/China/Mao LOL. Really need to get back to it. I still haven't made another one of these translation videos lol:
But yeah I like Misuzu, and Veil looked fun gameplay-wise, and the outfit is cool, so I spent all the Gems I've been saving on it. I luckily got Veil after 140 pulls, exhausting my gems. I usually wait till I have enough for the ceiling (200) to pull a card I really want, but ended up doing 50 pulls just the week before to get Sakura Serafuku Tsubame. And I'm not gonna put real money in a sociage in the year 1447.

I hate card games roguelites but Gakumas isn't one at the end of the day, so I do enjoy playing it. It's a little frustrating at first when you're just starting. Even when you're an intermediate player and have spend several months with the game, certain runs (Sense and Anomaly) can be really really annoying if you aren't lucky. Meanwhile Logic characters, especially Logic Hiro, are way too EZ MODO.
I remember it took me several runs and a lot of luck to first get 1st place with Misuzu on N.I.A for example. That was frustrating but fun, and satisfying once I finally beat it.

I've been playing sporadically since release, so I've been walking alongside the game for nearly two years now, and got quite the variety of SSR idols and support cards now. I have a lot of fun with the game nowadays no matter what character I play as. Even reusing the same setups and the same strategies over and over again is fun.
Lastly, I always have a blast during Events with special rules. Such as the Asari sensei events where you get to use a few cards from another playstyle be it Sense/Logic/Anomaly. And yeah Veil Misuzu is a cool new challenge.

I assume Bandai Namco will release Gakuen Idolmaster in English at some point, seeing they even made an EN official Idolmaster Twitter account, and are bringing Idolmaster seiyuu at an USA event this year for the first time in over a decade. All thanks to number one male EN VTuber NorthernLion streaming Uma Musume. If you can't speak JP, and the game ever releases in English, you should try it out. It's fun.
Thanks for reading till the end. Please let me know in the comments if I missed something or got something wrong.
