A translation and commentary of Operation Takanawa Mementos - Wake Your Heart - the Persona 5 Royal collab event in Heaven Burns Red
Asalam aleikoum how's it going. Heaven Burns Red Asia version did a Persona 5 Royal collab from May 22 to June 19 2026. This article is a compilation of my playthrough of the event.
When doing projects like this I really wish I could activate the OBS captions thing for oomfies who'd need it but strangely it cannot work if you have an AMD graphic card. There's still the YouTube Automatic Closed Captions at least, but sometimes they aren't available on my videos for some reason. Thankfully they seem to be working fine here. They're relatively accurate.
Even if you have no interest in Persona 5 and Heaven Burns Red, I'd really appreciate if you at least watched the intro for the first video. Serves as a good introduction for Full Metal Fukumi, for Heaven Burns Red as a whole, and why it became my favorite game of these last four years since its 2022 launch. Most notably because the way it deals with its sad themes is more relatable to me than Expedition 33 or Violet Evergarden, to take the first recent mainstream sad stories that came to mind. Or stories that uses animals to try to make you feel sad, because lotof people in global north think USA are the good guys and don't think about all the poeple getting bomber and starved every day, so instead they get sad seeing a random cat doing whatever. Heaven Burns Red feels less White-minded to me and doesn't feel like that.
Edit: I've uploaded all the videos and you can find them below. Overall this event was really good. I think the PawaPuro collab was even better and far more ambitious (quickly shared my impressions of it at the end of my playthrough), but this Persona 5 The Royal collab was still really good.
Definitely one of the best writing I've seen in sociage collab crossovers. (though sadly that bar is real low, lot ofsociage crossver events have dog stories). I hope they do another Persona collab one day, and I'm pretty sure they'll do a Persona 4 one with the remake coming. (I really have zero interest in that remake lol. Though I guess I might watch most of it on streams to listen to the voice acting). Anyway, I'm gonna write an in-depth impressions article for ko-fi subs insha Allah, might do an impressions video in JP too.
Operation Takanawa Mementos - Wake Your Heart - Day 1 Commentary and TL
Some mistakes I made since it's really hard TLing live and I'm not a pro: at 1:21:05 Awakened Tsukasa tells Karrie "If you don't stop I'll twist your arm off" and Karrie's like "you're already twisting it".
At 1:48:15 Kojyu acts as if she can feel her Persona awakening, Sumomo is like "her chuuniness is flaring up again".
Day 2
I forgot to translate Higumin and Yukki's lines at 1:38:00. Like I explained, Higumin is a mad scientist, so she's complaining about the invisible barrier and how she can't get into Takanawa Mementos herself for research. Meaning she probably tried getting in, without permission. Yuki is like "you'll get yelled at".
There might be other mistakes/things I forgot, I'll update if I notice.
