Disclaimer: This article talks a little about Islam stuff. If you ever have a question or are serious about learning something about Islam, don't look up stuff online. Instead, when you have the time, go to a mosque and ask the people there. Even we Muslims ourselves don't realize just how common level 99 maxed skill tree islamophobia is. You've got tons of ill-intentioned people on the internet spreading misinformation. And even people like me with good intentions are at the end of the day just rando muslims. I'm not a scholar or anything. I could be extremely wrong. Don't take what I say as 100% truth. And I only speak for myself, not all Muslims. God knows best.

Aniplex and Type-Moon announced Melty Blood Twi-Lumina on May 2 2026. The reveal happened at Evo Japan 2026 with a teaser trailer. The game will be released in early 2027 on PS5, PS4, Switch, Switch 2, PC via Steam. There is also an Xbox One version but you should be boycotting Xbox if you actually care about being leftist instead of only talking about ethics when it's the Saudi or Chinese governments being involved.

Speaking of which, this year's Evo Japan, fully owned by Qiddiya Gaming as of March 2026, seemed to have several hiccups. I know my goat Momochi had his first pool match run FIVE HOURS late lol. But yeah this year thank God I can just be racist and say it's the Saudis fault.

My point is, there's a clear racist bias in how quick people are to remind the Saudi government's involvement in games in comparison to when it's a global north government or company involved and is targeted by a Palestinian-led boycott (Xbox). The funniest thing is when I see some people criticize the Saudi government and then say things like "I hope Muslims gamers can understand I'm not saying this against them". High level of unconscious racism, infantilizing Muslims and thinking we can't have critical thoughts. People's only idea of religion is Christianity and then they think all religions work the same, so they think Muslims believe the Saudi government is God's representative in the same way the Vatican/Pope is for Catholic Christians.

Last but not least, people don't realize that the Saudi gouvernement and USA government are allies. All the atrocities the Saudi government does is with the support of the USA government. Like bombing and starving Yemen. But that's not a discussion the Gaming World is ready to have seeing how White it is.

Anyway. I probably won't play Twi-Lumina much. Like I always say I barely play fighting games these last 20 years and prefer watching. Can only play with close ones instead of acquaintances or random people on the net. Even so, I actually bought MBTL at release so I'll probably buy this at release too insha Allah. I love the storyline in fighting games and MBTL is obviously a game with tons of story. Just listening to the voice acting is fun. It has lot of fanservice if you like Nasuverse etc, so looking forward to getting more of that.

I don't think this means Tsukihime Remake 2 will be releasing in 2027, that's too optimistic. I'm a huge Tsukihime fan who still haven't played the original game nor its sequel Kagetsu Tohya, so I can't comment on the fan speculation that Twi-Lumina will be themed around Kagestu Tohya. I bought Tsukihime Remake on Switch but I wanna play the original first so I never played past the intro.

The top 8's players' reaction to the trailer and Bama's smile loool. Was pretty heartwarming to see.

Back when Fate/Extra Record was announced for a 2026 release I started thinking that they'd add an Extra Record character to Type Lumina. My guess was on Tamamo. I thought it wouldn't be Saber Nero since Saber is already in the game, and I thought it wouldn't be Archer since he's already been in a fighting game (Fate Unlimited Codes). Afaik Tamamo hasn't been in one yet.

They already specified that obviously, Len won't be the only new character in Twi-Lumina. They'll definitely add more characters from the original Melty cast. And then maybe Tamamo and a Fate Strange Fake character.

I was so shocked at the announcement on March 16 2026 that Fate/Extra Record got delayed from its Spring 2026 release, and that Bandai Namco isn't publishing the game anymore.

The statement is too vague to know what happened yet (we might never know) so I can't fully blame Bandai Namco, but Bandai Namco has been picking really puzzling decisions these last few years so I can't help but blame them somehow.

At the end of the day though, I think this is all Aniplex's (Sony) fault for not publishing Extra Record themselves. I don't understand why Type-Moon had to go to Bandai Namco in the first place instead of Aniplex publishing the game, as they do with everything Nasuverse today, be it the games or anime. Aniplex is publishing the remasters for Fate/stay night and Fate/hollow ataraxia (though they don't release them on PlayStation for some reason) and they are publishing Twi-Lumina. I have no idea what is their logic regarding Fate/Extra Record.

If I have the time one day (or manage to find a new job in games media and write it as a feature) I wanna go over Fate/Extra Record's development. I have been covering the game since its initial announcement, watched all the official streams where it was mentioned and read all of Nino Kazuya's tweets about it.

Nowadays, JP studios are a bit less tight-lipped, and sometimes talk about their games' development process in anniversary interviews 1-2 years after release. Like Bandai Namco admitting Tales of ARISE initially wasn't a Tales of game. Btw, they talked about this again a little bit in the 30th anniversary talk show I summarized:

Let's say Fate/Extra Record finally releases in late 2026 or 2027. Imagine that a few years after that, when Fate/ Extra Record CCC is about to release (lol) maybe Nino will explain in detail what happened with Bandai Namco in an interview. I'd love to read and translate that.

Thanks for watching / reading till the end. Please let me know in the comments if I missed something or got something wrong.
