this is a duo of jp streamers focusing on retro games. i started listening to them maybe in 2023o, they've been playing old games together for years since high school, they're in university now and have less time so sometimes one of them streams alone and then the other one joins later i think for over a year now they started playing through zelda games, and reached oot now but also even before that they played a lot of really old rpgs and stuff on pc98. things that inspired zelda like xanadu etc, so in a way they "learned" retro games really well, making me think of that tweet again
You know, I often say that playing old video games is like learning a language. The more you play them the better you become at understanding their vocabulary, the structure, etc. You can become fluent in classic video games, but I think a lot of people simply have lost it, or never learned how to.

shows as long as you have some patience (and time and you have a lot as a young person) regardless of age there's a lot of old games that are really enjoyable including old rpgs, and aren't necessarily too grindy and bad and slow etc etc. if i achieved world domination it'd be forbiddne to complai nabout "bad controls" if you never played a game like ZUSAR VASAR.
1 reason i like these two streamers is because they constantly talk as if they are the characters themselves. like every battle one of would act as the player and the other acts as the enemy. or sometimes they act like sports commentators. in 2025 when i had the time I'd listen to them play through yonjyuuroku okunen monogatari and it was particularly funny because of that.
proabably the funniest bit I've heard them do was in 2025 during their resident evil 2 streams

sometimes kyabanee plays alone when that happens she tends to be a bit more hype than when kokebunny is her ehtough sometimes they often just both hype and scream a lot. i don't like screamers who streams all the time but i don't mind these two in a rare subversion of my babuyou babume babumism
