A Mix Of Hope And Fear For The World's Future
getting some random thoughts out of my head to rationalize and calm down and hope for the best amidst the current situation
Well I mean if you're leftist you always feel like that, but I feel it even more so these past few months or years. Lotof people mainly young people aren't dumbassess and are clearly fed up with billionaires and politicians and their goons supporting each other to keep imperialism capitalism racism going.
There are protests everywhere in Europe at the moment. If you read what Italians, Spanish, Albanians, etc etc students are saying, they have the same concerns as what French students are saying (please share this Japanese version with your Japanese acquaintances). "We have rats in our school" "Stop spending money to support isreal and kill people, spend it more on health and education."
We're all in this together so we just to organize better and do more stuff. Easier said than done but it's not impossible. I'm sure things can improve.
Billionaires and many politicians are also all in this together and will do everything to keep the current system going. Their biggest weapon is racism. I think the level of racism nowadays is superior to the level of post 911 era racism. And racism is one of the most powerful drive for humans. Trans people have zero impact on people's life whatsoever and yet they feel compelled to spend energy to hate them.
I already talked about this countless times but every TV news channel in france is now owned by racist billionaires. And the national public channel's news are also controlled by people close to them. These last ten years these channels have been spreading racism as much as they can. Defending isreal. Discrediting protests and students raising their voices. Constantly inviting racist politicians and giving them air time. This is the major reason why a racist did a terrorist attack this October 23rd in Trappes (unfortunate name if you're familiar with English slurs. It's a suburbs city of Paris which like many suburbs has a high minority demography) shooting a black man to death and critically injuring other black and arab people.
Strangely enough his family name still isn't known, only his first name. Usually when the terrorist isn't white and doesn't have a french sounding name, his name is repeated everywhere.
For years, politicians regularly singled out suburbs like the city of Trappes, spouting countless lies like "muslims took over the city" "women can't go out outside with a man" etc etc. Macron is acting sad about it but he too and most politicians in france facilitated that racism. The terrorist also admitted himself that he specifically targeted black or arab or muslim looking people. It also turned out he was arrested three days prior for a violent racist aggression -tear gassing and beating a black man at a gas station- but was immediately let go by the police with no surveillance. Meanwhile the same police is strangling and arresting 14-16 years old girls and keeping them in unsanitary cells with vomit and excrement for over 48 hours. Simply because they said "we want teachers." Sometimes threatening to beat or rape them. The same police who is also regularly escorting and protecting nazi marches in various cities in france. And who only intervene when anti-racist counter protesters start kicking their asses.
Hope we can work together more somehow in europe and the world, because those who want to kill us are working together at the full extent of their abilities. Even if we get real leftist governments in place, they'll do everything to keep the capitalist machine going. The fight just like the dream match never ends.
